Studio & Tuition Policies

Tuition Policies

Tuition: There is an annual tuition cost. For your convenience, the annual tuition cost is broken up into 11 installments, therefore, tuition stays the same regardless of the number of weeks in a month. Tuition is billed on the 1st of each month, August through June. All tuition installments are equal, with the exception of August and June, which are charged at ½ of the regular monthly installment. Families joining mid-season have their annual tuition cost automatically prorated. Tuition is charged on the 1st of each month. If you would like to pay the entire dance season, or an entire semester, upfront, please contact the studio to arrange tis.

Late Fees: Tuition is considered late if paid after the 5th of the month. There is a $15 additional charge for each week (7 days) tuition is late. After 2 weeks of unpaid tuition, the dancer will not be permitted to attend class until tuition is paid. Account must be current in order for a dancer to participate in any performances or competitions.

Credit Card On File: All families are required to have a credit card on file, regardless of if you intend to use a different payment method.

Refunds: There are no refunds or discounts given for absences. A make-up class can be scheduled within 30 days by contacting the studio. There are no refunds given for tuition after it has been paid. There are no refunds given for the performance packages or costumes. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Tuition Credit: Tuition credit is given in case of extreme injury with a doctor’s note, at the studio owner’s discretion.

Charter Funds: We happily accept charter funds from many local charter schools. Please contact the studio for more details. Charter funds can be applied towards tuition only and cannot be used for registration fees, competition fees, performance fees, costume fees, tickets, merchandise, etc. Charter funds must be received each month BEFORE tuition is processed on the 1st. Please keep in mind that charter schools sometimes take a few days to process vouchers & send them to us. Many charter schools allow multiple months of vouchers to be created at the same time - we strongly recommend this option. If we do not receive your charter voucher BEFORE the 1st of the month, your card on file will be charged for the full tuition amount.

Studio Policies

Dress Code: As we are a professional dance training facility, we expect dancers to fully abide by our Dress Code standards. Failure to adhere to these standards will result in dancers being sent home with reminder notes. After 3 reminders, if dancers continue to not abide by Dress Code, they will be asked to sit out of class. Please refer to the Dress Code on our website for full details.

Classroom Etiquette:

  • No gum during class.

  • Dancers should not talk when the instructor is speaking. Dancers are expected to treat one another and all staff & instructors with a respectful and kind attitude. Students are not to be socializing in a disruptive manner during the class with other students. School age and teen dancers are expected to have full attention and co-operation during every class.

  • Dancers must ask permission before leaving the classroom for any reason. Any student arriving more than 15 minutes late will be required to sit and watch class - this policy is in place for your dancer’s safety, as dancers run a higher risk of injury if they do not have adequate warm up time. For your safety and to receive full benefit from your class, please arrange for a make-up class if you expect to be very late.

  • While class is in session, only staff and dancers may enter the classroom.

  • Please allow adequate time for bathroom usage prior to class starting. Young children will be treated sensitively as the need arises.

Lobby Expectations: Please be respectful of our studio space & lobby. We ask that anyone waiting in the lobby is quiet so as not to distract the dancers in the classroom. Parents, please take phone conversations outside, and be mindful & responsible of your other children who are waiting in the lobby with you. The coffee bar is for parent use only - please do not allow your children to play with the coffee bar. The fridge & microwave are for dancer and staff use only. Our lobby front desk is for staff use only - dancers and families are not permitted to be behind the front desk at any time.

Pick-Up/Drop-Off Policy: Please do not be late in picking up your child after class. If you are consistently late picking up your child, additional fees may be charged to your account to compensate our staff for the additional time spent watching over your child. Please do not drop your child off more than 15 minutes before their scheduled class time.

Attendance Policy: Dancers and families understand that consistent attendance is necessary for a dancer to keep up with the rest of their class, be prepared for performances, and maintain the technique/strength to help safeguard against injuries. Excessive absences may result in removal from performances or competitions. If a dancer shows the following signs of illness, they are required to stay home until free of the following symptoms, without medication, for 48 hours: fever, diarrhea, vomiting.

Email Policy: Email is our primary form of communication at Reyha Dance Center. Please ensure that the email you provide upon registration is one that you will check frequently. It is the family's responsibility to read emails to ensure they are up-to-date with studio events and information.

Core Values: Upholding a “drama free” and kind, encouraging culture is a team effort between staff, families, and dancers. Gossip, bullying, negativity, rudeness, and other actions that do not match up with our core values of honesty, integrity, respect, joy, and encouragement will be quickly addressed.

Level Placement: Level placement is at the sole discretion of Ms Jordan & her professional faculty. Unlike school, where children progress into a new grade every single year, dance progression occurs when a dancer has shown mastery of the level’s curriculum & syllabus. This includes not only having knowledge of the dance steps in that level, but being able to execute them with the correct technique, body placement, muscular engagement, etc. Other things taken into consideration in a dancer’s level placement is their flexibility, strength & stamina, work ethic, maturity, attendance record, and ability to pick up/remember choreography & combinations. A level can sometimes take 2-3 years to master. If you have questions about your child’s placement, please contact Ms Jordan to schedule a meeting.

Dropped Classes/Make-Up Classes/Class Cancellation

Cancellation: If a class is fully canceled due to weather, instructor illness, power outage, etc, a make-up class can be scheduled within 30 days by contacting the studio. Please note that it is the family’s responsibility to contact the studio to schedule a make-up class.

Dropped Classes: There must be written or emailed notice for a dropped class 2 weeks (14 days) before tuition is processed for the month of classes that the student plans to drop. Tuition is processed on the 1st of the month. Failure to give proper notice will result in tuition being charged regardless of attendance, with no refunds given. Families must pay a re-registration fee if they want to drop from all classes and re-enroll within the same dance season.

Make-Up Classes: We encourage all families to schedule make-up classes if their dancer needs to miss a class due to illness, vacation, etc. Please note that it is the family’s responsibility to contact the studio to schedule a make-up class, and we cannot accommodate make-up classes once a family has withdrawn from the studio.
