About The Production

"The Nutcracker Ballet" is a timeless classical ballet put on by professional companies and dance studios alike all over the world. Our Nutcracker is a professionally run, community-based dance production that brings the magic of this beloved holiday tradition to our families at our studio and the local community. All dancers who audition and meet rehearsal & class requirements will be cast in a role!

Each year, we welcome both our own dance families and many from the broader community who join us to experience this cherished event. For many, attending "The Nutcracker" is a holiday tradition for their family - much like visiting a Christmas tree farm or enjoying festive caroling - that they look forward to year after year. Last year, we were honored that many in our local community chose Reyha Dance Center's "Nutcracker" as part of their seasonal celebrations, and we are excited to expand our reach this year by sharing our production with an even larger audience. This growth allows us to showcase our dancer's talent, strengthen community connections, and create an unforgettable holiday tradition for even more families.

Reyha Dance Center's mission & goal for our Nutcracker production is:

1) Give every dancer the chance to perform in a classical ballet - with roles designed for all ages and abilities, offering experiences they might not find elsewhere (for example, some productions only cast adult professional ballerinas in leading roles)

2) Build teamwork, friendships, and a sense of belonging - nothing brings dancers closer than creating something magical together onstage

3) Share a memorable and inspiring performance with our community - giving dancers the joy of performing for an audience and the pride of being part of a holiday tradition

4) Grow artistic skills and stage confidence - from learning classical ballet technique to developing performance presence, each dancer gains valuable experience no matter their age

5) Create lasting memories that celebrate hard work and creativity - helping dancers of all ages treasure their achievements both on and off the stage

  • September 6th: Auditions (at the studio)

  • September 8th: Cast List Released & Final Rehearsal Schedule

  • October 25th: Nutcracker Photoshoot (at the studio)

  • November 15th: Full Act 1 Rehearsal (at the studio)

  • November 22nd: Full Act 2 Rehearsal (at the studio)

  • December 6th: Full Cast Rehearsal (at the studio)

  • December 12th: Dress Rehearsal (at the theatre)

  • December 13th: Performance (at the theatre)

  • December 19th: Cast Party (at the studio)

Participation Requirements

  • Dancers must be at least 5 years old at time of audition

  • Dancers must be enrolled in at least 1 ballet class or ballet combo class at Reyha Dance Center

  • Dancers must be able to fully commit to the Rehearsal Policy and Schedule (see Audition Form for details)
